Default Pre-EPA ban software

I have two lap-top computers. One I set the date to before the EPA ban on the SuperTuner so no update is required to reflash, and a new one with the current date. Just for my own research, I loaded the new software onto my new lap-top to see if it was different, and the new one says, "I must update the VCI and the old data will be lost". Can the old map I have be reflashed from the old lap-top, (if I was to allow the new update) and is the new updated version only allowed to flash EPA compliant maps? I hope this makes sense.

This is why I am making a complete list of .dt0 files and storing in air-gapped media. Gonna get a separate laptop just for tuning and back date it as well.

ETA I have Harley CD ROMs from 2011 and 2013 was well as SEPST online software downloaded the last Sunday before The Ban (the following Wednesday). I'm compiling a list of tuning files from these sources and will not allow EPA-compliant programs to access these files.

At this point the assumption is the files from 9.002.0001 are likely the best, most updated PreBan tuning files (220+ files) but I'm trying to get copies of ALL PreBan tuning files.

The new software works just as the "pre-ban" software does. This is a non-issue. The tuning files are exactly the same.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation surrounding this and I have seen a few people posting over and over that they're keeping the old software because it is "pre-ban." It's just bad info.

If they are the same, why does the new software want to delete my old map?

When it updated my VCI it left my tuning file intact on the VCI. I got the same warning about all data being erased and was worried, but all worked fine. I assume they are talking about recorded performance data being erased. All the old maps are still there, and they are still race only tunes.

Nothing has changed other than no longer selling the tuner. The software is current....for now.
If you own the black or orange SEPST it will still work as always.
Everything is the same.
Also, as previously stated, when updating the VCI data they are referring to losing is any data you've log recorded for download later. That is all that will disappear.

Just trying to get this straight.
I have the old tuner 32109-08C date 04/07/15. The firmware held in the VCI will not get updated and and turn it into the new tuner which will stay within EPA compliancy? When I enter the serial number into the web page to download the software it is not recognized.

You can type all 1's into the box instead of the serial number and it should work. Your tuner will work fine and won't be updated to anything EPA regulated

Thanks Br125. Odd it won't take the serial but will take all 1's. Very confusing info out there.

I haven't updated to the new releases yet neither. I never seen the need. I do have the latest version on a laptop and have used it to flash a bike just to see. But I just edit the lastupdate.txt file on the dyno computer. I probably tune 10-15 bikes a month with SEPST. mostly I use TTS.
