Default FP3 Question: Does the FP3 "positively" retain/store the original OEM Map?

Greetings,

I'm seriously considering a Stage-1 upgrade to my 2016 Slim including the purchase and installation of an FP3 FuelPak, but I don't want to risk the potential of not being able to return to factory parts and settings if the need were to ever occur.

That said, the Vance & Hines folks have assured me that the new FP3 (Part #66005), will record and store the original factory (OEM) ECM settings, but salesman can be finicky, so I'd really like to hear from actual owner/users of the FP3 directly, just to be certain.

Does the FP3 in-fact "positively" store that original OEM Map somewhere in the event that someone wants to return it to the ECM via future flashing? And if so, is it stored in the FP3 in such a way that its secure (and un-corruptible) from other aftermarket ECM flashings that may occur (i.e., that it can't be over-written somehow, etc.)?

Thank you!

AWE-some! That was the ONLY thing giving me some hesitation on the purchase. I can-NOT wait to get the upgrade (pipes and intake) installed, and to check-out how well this little hummer (the FP3) works. Many thanks!

I had a 2012 Super Glide that I was running a FP3 on that I traded in on my current Road King. I programmed it back to stock before I traded with no problems. Bike just ran and sounded like stock. I gave the FP3 to salesman so new owner could add what they wanted and program as they needed.

Yep.......most definitely will preserve your original stock map. Matter of fact, it will store many maps.

The first thing it does when you first flash it stores the original map I think in the 0 slot. I am 100% sure. That is one map I'm sure I'll never use again

I also believe that your original map is uploaded to their server so that if fp3 dies, you can recover that data. I asked this specific question of them and was told this.

Thanks to everyone who responded here. Its reassuring to know that it does in-fact "store" the original MAP, and I believe I've also read somewhere that the original MAP 'should be' uploaded by the FP3 to the Vance and Hines server(s), so this too is great to know. Chances are, once I complete the 3-step Stage-1 upgrade (i.e., pipes, intake, FP3), I won't need to ever go back again, but one never knows for sure, so its well worth doing my homework on it beforehand. Thanks again!
