Default Cedar Key Ride

I went on a nice poker run Saturday with the AMVETS. We left Chiefland and stopped at the Treasure Camp on the Suwannee before heading into Cedar Key. The weather cooperated for a change and got to meet a great crew. I thank them for what they have done and continue to do.

Sure beats the cream cheese out of working or mowing.

Sounds like you had fun. A good ride is just what the doctor ordered in most cases. Cedar Key is a unique little place and fun to visit.

Did you notice that you passed through Rosewood on the way out SR24 west of 19? Its just a spot in the road that represents some dark days in Florida's history that occurred in the early 20's. There has even been a movie made about it. Don't know if you are interested in history at all but I find it interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosewood_massacre

Some locals claim Cedar Key is a quaint little drinking town with a fishing problem. And yes I'm familiar with Rosewood...5th generation native.

Default Cedar key area

Possibly my favorite region of Florida to ride. Beautiful country...lightly traveled...
After the ride, Cedar Key is a great peaceful place to unwind, hang-out and have a drink.
Headed there for a long weekend over Halloween.

Default I know the place too

I lived there in Chiefland actually graduated high school there in 83. We go back every year for the sea food festival. I load up on sea food but still have to get a burger at Ralph's on the way out. Been thinking about it fir a few weeks myself as it's just a couple weeks away now, Keep the spot to yourself don't want to ruin a good spot with too many people
