Dec 7 Toy Run (Ft Lauderdale) who's in?

If you get there before the masses start to arrive you can get in the back gate just north of Chester's about 1/4 mile. You will probably see a couple of motor cops at the intersection of International Parkway and NW 8th Street. Go west on NW 8th Street under the bridge and you're in Markham Park.
Thanks Lauren! It's all good now, only difference is I now have a Powervision in my chest.....and it plays MP3's too!

I couldn't remember how they led us in during the parade, so thanks for reminding me. So that makes sense that if you get there early (or later) to avoid the crowd that would be the way to go.
Thanks for the advice.

My pleasure......the Toy Run is the only time that back gate is open (that I know about anyway).

We did the VIP party at Hard Rock and the pre ride last year, it was fun. We met at the Aero Toy Store at Executive Airport and then rode in to the MArdi Gras casino. The subsequent ride was not all that great ; slow and freaking hot. But the Markham Park party was great. We will probably do the same this year.

I found this. http://www.toysinthesunrun.com/general_info.htm
If I remember the bands start about 2 ish, seems that Charlie Daniels is not headlining so he'll be on first.

OK, I rode it this weekend for the first time.
I fell into some sponsor's passes so had access to the Bikers Bash and all the rides over the weekend.
I read it was estimated at 30,000 bikes on Sunday. I have no way to know if that was accurate, but there were a ton. There were 2 drones flying over the staging area I was in taking pics and film.
I would rate it as something everyone should do once. At least to see it and say you've done it.
Well controlled by the Broward County Sheriffs. Very orderly.
The speed was slow enough that any time other than rush hour I could have made a lot better time on my own in traffic than during the toy run. But it is cool riding on I-95 and 595 with all cars off of it.
During the ride I told my wife I would have rather been a motor sheriff . They had all the fun on the highway. From the back of the run to the front, not at top speed, but easily 90mph or more for some of them.
The weather was perfect.

I ended catching just the tail end when Charlie Daniels was playing, he sounds good still to this day. Joneses I agree with you, it seemed to me the cops had the best time on the ride out there. Weather was phenomenal indeed and I didn't have to wait too long to get out, they had traffic flowing pretty well when I left. Seemed like a lot of people, I hope they made a lot of money for the cause.
