Default Biker happenings 8/16/15 Luck Cole's & Cafe 27

A biker buddy from Naples told me that Lucky Cole is having his end of summer fest on Sunday.

I may take a ride with a friend tomorrow early afternoon to Lucky Cole's.

Here's an article about Lucky Cole.

Had a nice time at both events and didn't get rained on which is amazing in the summer in S. Fla for as much ground as I covered.

Lucky Cole is a nice host indeed. Very friendly and plenty of cold beverages. Nice pictures all over the place, it's fun to see some of his "sets" for the photos. Met a few nice folks there as well. Lucky's wife was holding court and telling stories.

Kind of nice that there's no cell service at all so nobody's staring at their phone. There is a ladder you can climb that supposedly will get you service.

Ride down there was great, because we didn't get stuck behind anyone on Krome. Krome is a mess now because you cannot pass on its entire length fro 27 to 41 and the speed limit is 45. If you get stuck behind a truck (unlikely on Sunday) it's a bad ride.

Loop road (Lucky's road) is 30 mph and I understand the Micosukee police enforce it rigorously though we didn't see any. Frankly I enjoyed the putt putt pace with pretty much nobody else on the road.

Cafe 27 was not as crowded as I would have expected with the giveaways, but some interesting bikes there as usual.

Cool

On the same lines, I saw some roadkill on Gator alley.
About 12 or 14 feets worth!
We don't see much in the way of Gator roadkill in the UK, so if it's common place for you guys, do excuse me.

I'd say it's not common, but I have seen it a couple of times. One time down on the Tamiami trail, I saw a headless Gator - I guess someone had cut the head off the roadkill to make a shrunken head to be sold in a tourist shop! That was pretty gruesome.
