I'm thinking about riding to the Keys in April.

As of now I'm thinking 2 April 2016.
Heade west out of Jax on I-10 and south on I-75 to Tampa/Naples then to Miami. From there headed down the street thru the keys and staying at a hotel that scared me 2 years ago.

Anyone interested in riding part of the way?

 

Me and a buddy will be making the trip either in March or April riding 2up from the Cape Coral area. We may be staying on Marathon or another Key unless we can get a really good deal on a rate in Key West. We were down there last winter for a couple of nights and stayed in a dump for almost $300 a night!

 

Here's some recommendations for both the east coast and the west coast. 75 Alligator Alley is the northern route, 41 is the southern route to cross the state. Both end up at the same place, US 1, when heading to the keys.

If you decide to ride to Alabama Jacks keep me in mind and let me know, whether you go Alligator Alley or 41 east to the keys from the west coast, you end up at the same spot in Homestead/Florida City and Alabama Jacks is the more scenic route to Key Largo, it's a don't miss in my opinion. I'm always looking for an excuse and someone to ride with down to Alabama Jacks. The ride from Cafe 27 to Alabama Jacks can be slower (particularly since they stopped allowing passing on Krome and more scenic to the extent you find the Everglades scenic) or faster if you want to take the Turnpike.
