Default Tips on starting a bike night

I have a friend here in town who owns a Hurricane Grill & Wings franchise. He's looking to increase business on Tuesdays and asked me and a friend if we would lead the way in starting a Tuesday bike night. The restaurant is plenty big to accommodate a decent sized crowd and while the parking lot is not huge, it should be large enough to hold a decent number of bikes. The only drawback is that one of the restrictions on his city permit are that he can't have amplified music outside.

Can a bike night be successful with no outside music? How would I go about starting one up and drawing a decent crowd?

Three things come to mind What do bikers want in a bike night?

1 Cold beer
2. Hot women serving the beer
3. Motorcycles to look at

So i would start with a beer special and a bike show to start the draw

Flyers flyers fleyers, plan ahead make the first one big. Bikini bike wash, charity event for first bike nite always helps get it rolling the once everyone's there spread the word bike night every Tuesday. See if u can get donations from dealers in product to raffle or to give for prizes and do a bike show. Once I get through that first intial even and everyone knows that it's bike night Tuesday word will spread. Then maybe once a month so the online wash again or something special exct

Beer prices are everything, eye candy and a convenient smoking area are a must too.

Cool

And if your mate has any friends within the local plod, he may want to ask them to turn a blind eye to some of the more "exuberant" styles of bike riding!

start small and work your way upwards. Make it fun and interesting. Try to get a "good" local band to play. advertise as much as possible. good luck

My local biker meeting place has a huge Sunday gathering each week, and they are trying to set up a Wednesday night bike nite for metric bikes.

Here is how they are planning to do it - $1 Draft, $1 Tacos and a burnout box.

They have a Thursday night Harley bike nite and they had pudding wrestling a couple of weeks ago...but some poor girl broke her leg so I doubt they will do that again.

You state that proposed location is a "Hurricane Grill & Wings franchise".
A franchise entity will likely have some rules in place that may limit or control official participation in certain events.
May wish to consider having the owner research their franchise rules and make a call or two.
Probably because of the situation in Waco, some franchise food/beverage sports bar type venues have quietly backed away from official motorcycle type events for the moment.
I have noticed that some franchise type locations continue to have a specific day or night that most motorcycle riders gather but it is not designated or advertised as such by the venue.
