I think HOG advertises the FL rally as the last rally of the year (which it is), but that often gets translated into the last rally. I swear when I went to the FL rally in '03 I thought the same thing, then found out it was just the last rally of the year.

Funny thing, I went to the rallies in '03 and '04 in Howie in the Hills, before I owned a Harley and was on my Hondas (had family with HDs). Bought my first HD at the end of '05 and haven't been to a HOG Rally since, lol!

 

Well, scratch what I said above, just found this on the current FB page:
"Harley-Davidson/H.O.G. will begin having regional rallies (rotating among 3-5 adjacent states) next year - no more state rallies. The furthest south there will be any rallies held in Florida will be Orlando."

Yeah I couldn't find much either. I think I'm just going to roll out 60 east from Brandon Sat morning at 8am. Head up County line Rd. then over to Sun & Fun. I'll cruise through the vendor area then stop in at the Antique Bike Show in Hanger "A." After that who knows. I'll have to see what's out that way.

 

I already have plans for Saturday and it looks like that's the last day. Have fun!!

 

They are having a concert by Jasmine Cain later that evening up at the dealership.

 

Just back from the Rally, very disappointing weekend in terms of the the entertainment etc. I had a great time because I was with about 20 others from the chapter but ...

Only a handful of vendors
1 food truck
no coffee (those that know me know that's a very important thing!)
poor entertainment, no band at the rally on Saturday afternoon, no signs to say what was going on such as drill teams, nowhere to sit, exceptionally poor attendance by HOG chapters and anybody else, no announcements, very spread out, at least 20 minutes from Lakeland HD and all the hotels, and nothing to do once you were at the Rally. The dealership was not really part of things, there was such a disconnect.

I did test ride a SGS and a Heritage, more for something to do than any other reason.

I believe next year will be a Tri-State Rally in Pcola for Florida, Georgia and Alabama. I doubt I would make the effort.

 

Well stated. I couldn't have said it better. And yes, the NO Coffee thing was a killer. What were they thinking? And you couldn't even get a $4 coke until 10:00! Che diavolo!

 

They had a hog rally in Ft Myers last year
I believe it was close to 100 dollars to 1 thing or all the things that HOG was doing.also you need to be a national member . They said it was to make it more affordabl for everyone. This was for things that would be free any other time .
