I'm glad I had on 11-13-2016 but I did ride a lot without it guess I was lucky I decided to wear it THAT day, I still believe it should be the riders choice

Start firing off emails to your state reps. Do NOT let this Bill grow legs and get traction. Notify ABATE if you want to but don't count on them. They were "on the case" in getting the helmet law thrown out and it took like 15 years to make it go away!

 

I agree that calls and emails should go out to our representatives. However, I find it hard to believe that Florida would actually pass this as written when you can still legally talk on a cell phone while driving! Everyone shouldn't freak out too bad over this bill, you can introduce about any bill you want but passing it in another story.

 

There are more people that text and talk on the phone while driving then there are those who ride motorcycles without a helmet. They don't care if we loose the right to choose so long as they don't loose the ability to text and talk. What people care about is determined by how much it affects them personally.

 

It's not about whether you do, or do not wear a helmet ... It's about you HAVING to wear a helmet. This battle was fought long and hard in Michigan, and after years and countless dollars and endless work by supporters of the repeal, Michigan became a "Choice" state.

 

I chose to wear a helmet......that's my choice. I don't care if you wear one or not.....everyone should have the choice.

 

Exactly! More often than not I wear a helmet but I never liked being told I HAD to wear a helmet.
