Intersection of Kathleen and Sleepy Hill. Bike vs cage. Medics were working on the rider. Couldn't see enough to identify the bike, other than it's a cruiser.
If you need a computer to stop you slamming the brakes on at the apex of a turn and skidding off the road, you shouldn't be riding a bike.
What next? A rear wheel locking system that activates when you need to lay 'er down to avoid a collision?
Automatic exhaust baffles that open up when you need loud pipes to save your life?
When ABS made its production debut, the annual MSF recert training had a demonstration in 1991. That probably wasn't the best group as my 1979 Moto Guzzi, along with a new Goldwing and a Harley Ultra Limited. all stopped quicker than the ABS equipped BMW bike. But that was three instructors who all had much training and experience beyond the MSF instructors course.
I view ABS as an assist. I am not sure if I like the linked braking computer controls yet. Sounds nice, but I have used different.
FYI, today I am 25 years older, fatter, haven't raced for 20+ years, and only put 15,000 miles a year on my bikes now.
