To all the new Crew members
We have had a lot of new people lately posting up on the board. We are always glad to meet new people and are happy you are here. As you may or may not know all it takes to be a part of our group is to ride with us. We welcome everyone. There are a couple things about our group that some of the new people might not understand. First of all if you see us giving people a hard time we are just messing with them. Not to be taken seriously. We all want to meet new people to ride with and almost everyone in the group is very easy to get along with. People talk a lot of 300 mile burger runs and trips to Georgia but that is not all we do. We have short lunch trips too and are willing to meet up in your area if you don't want to go that far. Some take the long trips, some short, some both. Some just like to bar hop. That is the beauty of our group. We have it all. We go everywhere near and far. Don't be afraid to post up a ride of your own even if it is just a quicky to get to meet a few of us. Post it and we will come. I would also like to explain a little about our Rally in November. This is a yearly party we have to get most of the group together for a long weekend and party and do some riding in the Horse country near Ocala. Here is how it works: We all pitch in what we can to our Paypal account (here) to cover the cost of the party. We have the Days in in Silver Springs blocked out for us and we pretty much take it over. They let us do our thing all weekend without bothering us, we have a party room where we have dinner (BBQ) catered on Saturday night. The rest of the weekend we usually have food available that we grill or go out to eat. This is a great opportunity to meet a very large percentage of the crew and meet new friends. Also get in a weekend of great riding. The rooms are only about $50 a night so it is very reasonable. Check out the Ocala rally section at the top.
Also check out our website at flcrew.com for pics of past rallys and other memorable Crew moments. If anyone thinking of joining up with us has any questions feel free to post them or pm me.

Someone say "bar hop"? That is mostly my weekly riding...ride to work, ride to
Boot Hill Saloon, ride home.
To the 'newbies'......you will soon find out how BIG Florida is, and that there are characters in "The Crew". Some wiseguys.....some 'wise guys'. Some have met once....
some we may be waiting to meet..but all in all we pull together and fall under the 'No Rules' rules. Not everyone is a friend, but everyone is a brother.
Things do not always pan out the way the plans go. 15 riders plan to show up for a ride, and you end up on your own. THAT is the ride.
The Florida Crew has no membership.....everyone is a member. You say you are, and you are. No dues...no voting... only thing close to dues, is I guess....our Ocala Rally. A
nice gathering from all over the state (and from out). What we contribute to the Rally.....
makes us a giving group. Seems to me, our group still has a bit of old-timey style.....
where your word still has meaning...you say you will....means you will.
I have seen and witnessed people in our little group do amazing things for people they
have met but once. Not bad for a group with no rules.
I will renew my membership.

Over in the touring section there was a zillion-reply response to someone warning folks that their can of spray Pledge would blow-up in their saddlebag on a hot day. As any typical thread, the conversation wandered off to which polish to carry and what works best.
I was thinking...."why the hell is anybody riding around with Pledge anyway?" I didn't respond to any of it after realizing that folks have to polish every few miles or be absolutely ready for a single bug splatter.
I carry a damp sham-mi for the occasional wipe-down, so does that make me "one of them"? LOL

Sadly, I know (or know of) too many like this.
