im flying to long island . to get my bike in sept. and drive to miami to work....im a tree climber///
but i dont want to fly to fla. from n.y. to spend time money etc, just to walk in the the tax office., and fly back next day. for ten minutes of b.s.
and foget about the new york registration story, inspection etc. (i dont use turn signals for example or brake light switches on the hand/foot controls.. no speedometer , thunderheader, etc.. and more taxes. you get the point there,,
if anybody gets to the tax office by chance for some reason . , can they ask these questions for me?...

1...most important ,,,,can a friend/person register my bike with the florida power of attorney form from dmv notarized . .? and the old registration.

2. is there a delinquent penalty, for 3 years unregistered,

3..can i use the same tag.

I almost sure you need to provide proof of FL residency and vehicle's insurance.
Maybe these 2 web sites can help. Good Luck.

Motorcycle does not require insurance in Florida...If I have time on Monday, I will stop into
the tag office. Key info:
1. You are over seas
2. the bike tag has been expired three years.
(I do not think they wil care where the bike is at this moment).
They may need 'old' registration number? I don't think they will care who owns it, as long as someone is re-newing the tag.....(?) Just a guess.

If your old number is expired, you can request the same number....and if no one else has it......you may be able to get it back. May be charged a fee (tax) for specialty tag though.......

When I bought my new bike in December I found out the tag expired nearly a year earlier and I had not realized it.

When I bought my new car last month I found out my tag expired a year and a half earlier and had not realized it.

In both cases the same tags were renewed. No fines... Just had to pay the original renewal fee, plus the transfer fee.

you guys are great thanks,....
and thanks ,,,,,themensh

if you can go there ill buy ya a german beer ,

i am a florida drivers licence holder , motorcycle endorsed,
im pretty positive i can use the same plate. same address
they never ask for insurance,,,,even the cops dont bother i think...
didnt think the fine for unregistered is so great .
probably more enforced for the cars.
i have a copy of the body file.
a body file is the history from the bike from dmv in tallahasse.
i reinspected my motorcycle because the aspt sticker was wearing off over the years so i have all that info in printable as well . title number frame number etc. you can get it too , its justa a pain in the a22.

so i found 2 !!.. forms for power of attoney.
one needs to be notorized . which i can do here in germany,
the other doesent ,

printing them would probably save a lot of words...with the tax lady.

thanks so much , for your time chuck ..no rush , when you can ,,,. i have a few weeks left.

I let my registrations for my Suzuki slide for a couple of years and they just charged me for each previously unpaid year.
