Default 5 day trip to MO/AR

Well that was a blast. I flew to St Louis, got met by one of the QOTR, she took me to Gateway HD to rent a Heritage, stayed at her house one night, then at 6am we rode 300 miles to Eureka Springs AR to meet up with 5 other Queens.

What can I say about the roads? OMG they were amazing - just a little different from S Fl roads!! Twisties, switchbacks and hills, twisties and switchbacks on hills both down and up (obviously but you know what I mean). Caught onto riding them in a few minutes and there I was zipping along like I'd always done it.

Not a drop of rain for 1100 miles, a brutal wind back to St Louis, another night there, dropped the bike back off at HD and flew home yesterday afternoon.

A great bunch of ladies (and one hubby), no drama just riding and having fun. RobbAR from the forums rode over from Rogers to meet us all on Sunday morning and gave us some suggestions for riding routes. I really recommend the Pig Trail and surrounding roads if anybody is thinking of a trip.

Lauren,
Glad you got to get away. It is a pleasure riding out there, especially when you're used to the bull____ traffic here in Flat Florida. There is so very little traffic in Arkansas, and the roads seem to be kept in good condition. And although the Ozark mountains aren't among the tallest, they are indeed great for motorcycling. Look forward to seeing some pics...

Rode on I think US 60 south of Joplin heading for Arkansas and the road was like a roller coaster, many whoop de doos. It was crazy, I think I could have lifted the front end going over the peak of those hills. Fun riding.

What a small world again...I was riding the backroads in Missouri myself last two weekends on my buddies 03 Anniv FLSTC. I'm from there and have forgotten how nice the hills and valleys are to ride in.

I don't want to go back to winter though....but this rain this year is for the birds!

Glad you could experience some Midwestern charm and hopefully you met some nice Midwestern folks. I was reminded myself how friendly the folks are and how good the produce is in the summer.
