My main reason for posting this video is that to me it seems this is a push by our state government to blame the rider. If you look at there web page it's all about training for the rider. Why not put this money into educating drivers?

Yeah, if I left 2 seconds between me and the car ahead, it would be filled every other second by another vehicle. Ya gotta ride the bumper of the car ahead so ya don't get cut off.
Obviously, the author of that video is a weekend, fair weather rider. Might put 700 miles on the bike each year and he lives in Arizona.

Instead of trying to educate idiots they should have a graded driving test for everybody at age 16. The test would consist of numerous areas. for example, Actual driving/ parking/ yielding/ lane changing etc. All facets of driving including road rage tendencies/ nervousness and body language is tense situations.
This would be a long drawn out ordeal and the grading scale would determine when the test subject would need to be re-evaluated. Crappy, scared drivers would take this grueling test yearly perhaps. The re-evaluations would be based upon overall grade, personality, and competency. Weed out the idiots and more of us 2 wheelers will live long and prosper.

I definitely ride smarter than I used to. I have been lucky enough to learn (and survive) from my mistakes and apply them as better riding technique over the years. There's always gonna be room for improvement though. And I never try to assume that I can't learn something new and beneficial from talking to other riders or watching videos or whatever. The lessons are endless and priceless.
