It rains every single year for the Poker Run

Three years ago I believe it was....a hurricane rolled by Key West a couple of days after the run and Duval was like 4' under water.

we are going to ride down early Sat morning and ride back sat evening. How's the parking down there for the bike? I heard you can buy some wrist band at Peterson's for better parking?


I need to buy a different rain suit. I got one recently but it is WAY too bulky

 

$10 wrist band attached to your mirror will get you on Duval St. Park where you want on Duval.

You can buy one as you enter Duval St.

 

Take a helmet with a shield if you have one, supposed to rain Saturday and you'll be putting on some miles for one day. Take it easy and ride safe! Wish I was going with you but the doc says no riding for a couple of months.

 

Just got back from Key West. I went down earlier than I planned and came back earlier.

* No rain. I ran through wet pavement both coming and going but never ran through rain.
* Hot as hell at midday in Key West.
* Traffic wasn't bad. It was easier and faster getting out of the keys than getting down there.
* Decent turn-out. They could have opened up more parking in the 2 blocks closer to Sloppy Joes though. They had it blocked for vendors and the bike show, but still had room left over.

200 miles down, 200 back, had a good time while I was there.
Gotta love anyplace that has a vendor selling boob pasties and ladies are modeling the goods.
