Default South Beach Bike Week

SoBe Bike Week opens on Friday, runs thru Sunday. We'll ride down on Saturday from Ft Lauderdale (yeah, I know, not a long ride).

Bikes + Bikinis + (sometimes topless) Beach = big fun

I'm not going this year, got other plans, but last year was a total bust. So I hope they have figured out bike parking as there wasn't any, and some vendors and events and food and drinks. Oh and bikes.

The Hooters on Pembroke Road and University (west of Ft Lauderdale) has a decent bike night on Wednesdays.

The Ft Lauderdale Beach area has a few good spots: the best is Bahia Cabana (a the south end of the strip, opposite the Yankee Clipper hotel; a great spot to hang out; check out the pool and the Jacuzzi as it gets later in the night.

The Elbow Room is older than dirt, but is still a cool hangout. Beach Place has a few bars/clubs set up above beach level so you get a good view of the beach.

Most of the big hotels are a bit on the foo foo side, so not all that bike friendly.

Hollywood Beach has the Quarterdeck on the pier (at the end of Dania Beach Blvd) . there are also a bunch of funky old places on the beach along Hollywood Beach itself.

Quarter deck, behind that big hotel? Not by the board walk , right?

We are just going to check out that south beach crap bc the wife wants to.... It will be traffic, hot, and am concerned about the parking. Plus what is there to see that you normally don't see? I guess a lot of bikers riding in shorts and flip flops? Lol

I agree on the hooters on wed nights

I did the ride from Rick Case power sports to South Beach. We started with about 20 bikes and picked up about 100 more at the Children's Museum on Watson island where we also picked up a MPD escort to South Beach. 98percent cruisers, probably 75 percent harley.
It was a fun ride. There were a Ton of bikes - mostly cruisers- all along South Beach. We might go back to check out the action after dark. It was way too hot to spend much time in the vendor tent area.

Pdog, that a different scene than when. Got there about 4. It was a pos. They were giving out the prize for the motorcycle contest and by what i hear there just a handfull of bikes lol..parking was easy on ocean drive as they had the east side of the street for motorcycles only.

I saw mostly black bikers and on rental scooters. Vendor area? Umm, it aint no bike week. At least there wasnt more traffic than normal for a saturday.

Im glad i made my trip down there longer, so i had a great ride today. Cafe 27 to belle glade on us 27 , east to wpb, then south on A1a. Stopped for lunch at flanigans in deerfield on A1A, then continued A1A down....south beach and back home... Did about 225 miles.
