TOAK- Thread Of All Knowledge- Part V
Dan, until recently (when I watched a PBS show about Churchill) I did not know how his countrymen had done him in his later years. A true shame after all he did to save their bacon.
I understand perfectly, Stan. I see all those 20 million dollar per film Hollywood libs standing up for the rights of the homeless. Haven't seen one invite one to live with them, have you?
I think the Brits saw Churchill as a wartime leader and once that was over they had no need for someone who like him. Like a wartime consigliere in the mafia.
Christmas 2015. This year we celebrate at Sis's (big) house, Minneapolis.
60 yr old bachelor cousin - odd duck- looks like Dusty from ZZ Top. Hell, I get a kick out of his "uniqueness". Been coming to Christmas with us since 1951 or so. Like I said, he's "odd" but harmless. All his family gone.
For the first time since before I was born in '59 - he does not get a Christmas invite because....I suppose....doesn't fit the mold.
A damn shame.....and so egregious I even felt guilty by association.
Interesting analogy and it makes sense, Marcus.
I could go on but we run the risk of being shunted to the POD ! Ha
I was a liberal once.........because "she" was hot........and "she" was a liberal. Worked that time........

Somehow I knew you would understand. I even gave myself a pass that time.
