Default The Buffalo Chip ???

This is our first year that we are going to Sturgis and we will be staying at "The Chip". Anyone have any comments on "The Chip" (negative comments I don't need as we have already paid for the tickets).

Where is the best place to put down our tent.
Where is the best places to eat?
Groceries, should we stok up before we get there?
Is there ice available
Can we run a small generator?
Is that small pond good to cool off in?

Anyother comments, ideas, helpful hints.

Thanks ...see you there
Paul

I've spent 3 years @ the chip. Are you tenting? how old are you? Its a fun croud! A bit expensive everywhere in there though. Ice is available! BEER too. $5 a can or you can get offsale cases pretty cheap too. Good eating. a church sponsered free pancakes breakfast every mornin for donations. every thing from dominos to taco bell. The concerts Rock... but be ready to wait in lines, bathrooms, etc...The pond! Oh its fun, they have swings and a swinging rope, a small fountain, definetly great to cool off in.. there's not alot of shade @ the chip anywhere and if its hot its HOT there, lots of rocks in the tenting area, so make sure to take time to clean an area b4 putting a tent down... Get ready to have a good time!!
