Default Rider experience

Which would you consider a rider with more experience, one with more miles under their belt, but a newer rider, or one with more years of riding, but fewer miles under their belt?

Neither one automatically qualifies the person as a "good" rider...

Agreed, Been on the road since '64 legally, guess that makes me a really old rider. OL is a new rider with 3 yrs on the road and we ride alot and I watch her head swivel alot and how she watches traffic, in how she rides the Dyna and I would consider her an excellent rider. Mileage dosen't count nor does years on the road its the Mindset that does!

Let those two ride together, and you ride by yourself.

I agree with the poster who says neither one makes you a good rider. You could have ridden many miles with the same bad habits.

Although If i had to choose: Remember it is not the years; it is the miles……

1st off, Bacchus didn't say anything about a "good" rider... his question was which do you feel is the more "experienced" rider... miles? or time? Obviously, the correct answer is MILES! I don't care how long your bike sits in the garage or driveway... experience is gained by RIDING.
