Many Yankees believe this.

My Tony Lamas are my most comfortable shoe I own, and look great. Why shouldn't I wear them? Have you ever worn a properly fit Cowboy boot? They are great for your back too.

I've been riding horses all my life. Started riding before I started kindergarten. I really don't follow your way of thinking here though.

I have a set of Tony Lama Elephant skin boots. Great boots. Had to have the sole's replaced because they were like ice skating when they were new..

Western boots evolved for one purpose: riding saddled horses

The pointed toe makes it easier to get your boot in a stirrup and the slick sole allows you to get it out fast (prevents you being dragged to your death under a runaway horse.) If you wear those and don't spend any time in the saddle you're just playing cowboy.

Motorcycle boots have a good tread to keep you from busting your *** every time you put your foot down. If you're wearing them on horseback, you're just playing biker (and will probably get dragged to death if your horse spooks and throws you.)

Snakeskin western probably aren't good for anything unless you're a hot female stripper... or want to be crowned queen for the day at the Blue Oyster Bar.

If you wear gym socks and never go to the gym then you're a poser!

Wait a minute! If this is true then if you wear boxers and don't box doesn't that also make you a poser?
