Every morning on my ride to work I see this guy on a Street Glide with a huge braided rope hanging from his right handlebar, with what looks like a dog leash clip on it. The damn thing is less than 2" from dragging the ground when sitting still. My first thought was that it was supposed to be club colors or something, but it there's nothing on his vest with those colors... Then I thought it was a window-knocker for a-holes in cages that can't drive... But it moves with the wind, so it'd be useless for anything other than walking a dog...


I've tried getting his attention to ask him what it's all about, but he's always jamming his radio to some Lady GaGa crap, and I can't seem to find an answer. Anyone care to enlighten me?

If it's on his right handlebar then it's clipped to the front brake lever. Hanging 2" off the ground. Think about that for a moment. Just think.

 

I'm thinkin real hard, with my eyes closed tight too. Just can't seem to think anything other than the get back whip flappin gently in the wind as I ride.
Was there something else that you experienced with it?

Haven't you seen the sign that says "All bikes must be kept on a leash"? We used to just let 'em run, but they started breeding too much.

It's for the people in cars. If you manage to avoid them when they cut you off, they can just reach out the window and pull on it and down you go.

 

Okay, so I did some research on a Get-Back whip... This is the dumbest crap I've ever seen. This isn't the Dark Ages, and it seems to me that people brandishing one are trying to advertise their bad-assedness just to compensate for their lack thereof.

Being the antagonist that I am, I think I'm gonna go put rainbow tassles on the end of it, I'm pretty sure he works at the same hospital I do.
