I have a Shoei RJ Platinum helmet which I like, and it fits well, but was wanting a retro style helmet for short rides around town. Looking at the Bell 500 and the Daytona Cruiser. I have an oval head and wear a 2XL in most helmets.
Daytona works for me.
The bell is either to big or to small although i spoke with a bell rep in Sturgis this year he said they are redesigning it with more shell sizes.

HJC is designed for oval heads. Shoei is more for round heads.
The Daytona is the way to go IMO.
Most 3/4 helmets are for round heads.
Buy a Daytona that fits tight and work the styrofoam so it fits your head shape.
I'm looking for a long oval too. I have read or heard that Seer and Davita both fit the bill. Seer is mail order out of Colorado and only seems to show at Americade. They only had their 1/2 hats this year. Davita is sold through BMG. I hope to see one at the DC M/C show this year. There were none that I could find at Sturgis
The 2014 Bell 500 may be the fit that works. At least there are dealers that carry them and they attend all the shows.

I have both Bell 500's and Daytona 3/4's. Both great/quiet helmets. The Daytona's are avail on eBay for $62 shipped and the Bell 500's are on sale at the MotorcycleSuperstore for $50-$59 with free shipping, that's a bargain.
