Mornin. Good labor day filled with labor. Need a 6' ladder. That should stall my rain gutter project for a few days.

The tour pack wobbled kinda bad, pulled it and found out why, the front cross piece on the tubular rack had been very sloppily welded on a previous repair and broke apart again - I'll grind the chrome off the weld area (wasn't done), put some solid rod in the broken area of the tube, and weld it all together, should be solid then. Harley riveted the damned tube rack to the frame, what a pita to get off. The trailer hitch damaged the back end, some of the Harley parts aren't really strong enough for that kind of load, more welding. It's off forever, same for the center stand (man that thing is heavy), only good for level concrete anyway.
Daughter said it was the most comfortable bike she's ever been on.
Couldn't even tell she was back there. This might've had something to do with that...
The little guy was almost locked in with those swivel arm rests wrapped around him, but they're real heavy and I suspect why the pack rack broke; they're not going back on, either. Poor kid never got to actually go for a ride on it. Next summer...

Those Mustangs like that red one were sure good handling. My brother had an '81 Turbo Capri (Mercury version), just a 4 banger, but he doubled the waste gate pressure from 4 to 8 lbs boost, changed the timing from 10 degrees retarded to 10 degrees advanced, pulled both cats, put on water injection, and it was one of the fastest cars off the line I've ever driven. You'd sink into to the seat to 80, unbelieveable for a 4. Really unbelievable - it got better gas mileage! We took it from Memphis to Syracuse via Washinton DC, was a decent hiway car, too.
He raced a big block Vette and was about 4 car lengths ahead of it at 80, but the Vette took him before 100. Vette owner wanted to do it again, same result. I can imagine how surprised the guy was, little 4 banger beating one of the hottest American cars off the line.
I ran out of water once with the pedal down, sounded like a machine gun (instant off the gas!); that was the secret ingredient to make his changes work, otherwise, had to be easy on the gas pedal to avoid detonation.

That's good, put's gas in the Harley. Not busy here. Makes no difference for putting gas in my Haley...
