Default Cheapest place to buy bulk .22LR Ammo?

I recently picked up a Ruger 10/22 for cheap fun at the range. Holy Cow, I did not know there were so many aftermarket parts for it. It's kind of like a Harley when it comes to customizing it. I just got it this past Christmas and there isn't much of the original gun left!

Does anyone out there know of the best place to purchase .22lr in bulk? It seems like I can find cheap on-line prices sometimes, but the shipping kills it.

V/R,
Greg T

I would always get the best deal at a local gun show. Go on the last day at the end of it and make your deal.

walmart.. the bulk federals.. remington and winchester are dirty ammo and the bullets are not seated real well in them... have gone to range and gone thru 3k and up with the federal and not had any problems with it... had trouble with the other two to the point that you couldn't give me the ammo even for free.

On 22 ammo even when it's expensive.....it is still cheap. A brick of 500 is usually under $20 bucks. Just go buy it and stock up from just about anywhere, it won't break the bank.

+1 on the winchesterand remington being dirty, my p22 couldnt get through a 10clip without jamming with the winchesters.

Go to walmart they do a bulk pack of 550 for i think $18. the federals appear to have a waxy substance, and fed right through my p22 with no problems....

I buy all my stuff online. Shipping is not bad when you buy bulk. I get cases of 9mm and 45 shipped to me for $18-20 a case. Still cheaper then buying local. Sometimes the cheap ammo jams. I like using Aquila or CCI with the wax coated tips. Never have a problem. Use some Thunderbolts and Federals and had lots of jams and hangfires.
