Default remington speedmaster model 522

I just found a remington speedmaster model 522 in the back of my closet I have no clue when or where I got it but I have been dragging that old case around for at least 20 years lol. I took it out and its beautiful a little dirty so I found a utube video and took it all apart and cleaned it all up. does anyone have one and are they a good 22 i see they are expensive to buy but what makes them so special

I am taking the 22 to the range in the morning and I am really excited about it. I think its older because all the guns I have seen have a long sloping front site and mine has what I will call a small bead for a front site, thanks for the posts and I will let you know how it all goes tomorrow

great day at the range the 552 was incredible very smooth and accurate what a find lol put the S&W 686 thru a full box of 357 mag rounds and wow the 38 specials are mild compared to the 357 but what a great revolver. I cant wait until next trip to the range!

One of the things that made the old Speedmaster famous was that its one of only a very few .22 semi autos that will take Shorts, Longs, or Long Rifles interchangeably.
99% of every other semi auto made will only take Shorts or Long Rifles but not both.
They are also very accurate guns, its not a real target grade gun.
But for a field gun it can hold its own against any other semi auto made.
