You can use motor oil on threads if you dont have any anti seize. I think the book may state that or on the spark plug box. I prefer A.S.

The service manual calls for thin coat of silver anti seize and torque 12 to 18 ft. lbs. just put on the threads not the seat area as too much can cause a bad connection. Never put any dielectric grease on the boot end as it is non conductive and will cause the boot to plug to arc and leave carbon tracks on the end of the plug and screw up the Ion sensing system that detects spark Knock. I have seen both of these done.
