My local just started that..it stunned me. But apparently the local Victory shop had been doing it and therefore tire sales went to zero for Harley. Don't you love the free market!!

I wish! I swear the the labor rate starts as soon as they crack open the parts catalog looking up the part numbers.

The dealer I bought from did it in the past. Now they give you a merchandise credit for the amount of mounting and balancing. I believe it is $98 per tire. I also believe they have to remove the tires from the bike. Not good on carry in.

for what a dealer charges for a tire, they can pay a technician $25 to mount a tire and still make a handsome profit. i can order 2 tires from jake wilson and pay the local metric guy to mount them, for less than harley wants for one unmounted tire.

I hire the kid down the street to change my tires. He uses a couple of his dad's screw drivers to mount the tires. I just pay him with a couple beers and he seem happy.

I call around and check the internet for the cheapest tires I can find and have him slap them on. Amazing how much $ I can save.

My dealer used to;dont know if they still do.

When I purchased my front tire, they gave 20% off list, then mounted it for free.
