Default Idles rough and dies after warm

Just recently replaced the cam assembly using the Screaming Eagle cam support and high pressure oil pump and new lifters. Everything went together fine and it starts up and runs good for the first couple of days. Then after it gets warmed up it starts idling rough and dies and the idle speed drops. Reading through the forum I find suggestions that it may be the cam position sensor. I have been looking for ways to test it but have not found anything yet. Does anyone know how to test the sensor?

crank position sensor is in the front of the left case by the oil filter and stator plug

CPS is held in place with an allen bolt

This is the Cam Position Sensor located under the plate on the right side of the engine.

It is possible that you have an intake leak.

It's possible but I would expect to notice that at speed too. It only has a problem at low speed and idle and after it warms up. It runs fine when cold.

I haven't had a chance to pull the codes yet. I need to find the instructions on how to get them.

Because you just did some work it seems it would have something to do with that.....or might be coincidence....just replaced the temp sensor on a buddies flhtcu that was doing exactly what you describe....

The MM FI has both sensors. Cam position and crank position. I don't know anybody that has the electrical service manual for MM FI. Looking for one for a friend that has an 02 FLTHCUI. It may come in the standard service manual. MOCO does not list it separately that I could find. Must have searched 85 pages on the web for a E SM.
