Is this still an issue for the newer model Street Glides? Have a 2013 and was considering purchasing a True-Track for it. Thanks

Here is a tv news clip about it.

From what I understand it's mostly all hype, some older models with worn bushings had a problem.

tire condition and pressure* is the big one-

lots of riders don't check day to day

or do preventative maintenance like greasing the neck bearings and checking fall away...swingarm bushes etc.

so for an owner on top of the machines condition, there shouldn't really be a concern.

B.) the batwing fairing WILL unload the front tire at speeds above about 85 MPH- reduced traction means a front end skipping around- rider beware.
the fairing will also affect steering whether a crosswind, passing truck gust or an updraft in canyon riding.

*we had a post from some rider who was gonna sue HD bigtime...!
he really meant it.

then it turned out he was running about 10 psi in his front tire

don't belief all the complaints you hear on the internets.

I have a couple of hundred thousand miles on rubber mount evo frames ( FXR/FLHTC) and a bunch on my 09 FLHTC.
none of those bikes ever did anything unexpected.

Thanks. Spoke w a guy today who said he had it happen to him while passing a big rig and it scared the crap out of him. He about lost control. I think his bike is an 09 though. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else with later models had experienced the same issue.

see B.) above.

while the batwing fairing has some nice features- it is a styling holdover from the 60's ( we like "tradition" right?)

the sharknose is much better in terms of physics/aerodynamics.

but I like the batwing- it does takes rider awareness of the machine and the conditions

Well passing a big-rig is a WHOLE different story. Almost any rider has experienced that, especially with any kind of cross breeze. When passing, twist the wick, and hold on.
