Looking for Lock kit for detachable TP
#12
I just installed a detachable tour pak kit and was told they have a lock for the latch. A buddy said he had one and it was about $10 or $15. I looked in the HD catalog and I see one for around $60 (no surprise) Is that it or is there another brand i should be looking for? For those who have them, do they work OK or a PITA? Thanks

If you don't want the HD detachable lock, Brukus makes a good product to secure your detachable tour pack.

The Harley lock kits are sold in pairs for 70-80 a set depending on whether they are black or chrome. The brukus device is 40, and no indication on the page linked whether that is for 1 each, or a pair of them. If it is only 1, then the Harley units are a pretty good deal I would say.
Edit: After looking further (by clicking on the picture on the link above and being redirected to another page), there is a lot more information on this. By this text it is only one device for the 40.
"One TourPack BULLET Secure secures one cam, which secures your accessory. You can also purchase 2 TourPack BULLET Secures to have both cams secured. But only one is necessary."
That makes the Harley units cheaper per item than the Brukus for black, and the same price in chrome. Since you only really need one per cam, the Harley set can be used for both the passenger backrest and luggage rack, and save 10.
