Default 08 standard glide alarm

hey all , noticed yesterday my bike has the red key for the secuirty, but i didnt get a key fob, just a regular key. how do i know if i have security on the bike, and can i use an old fob if i do have security?.

oh and i didnt get an owners manual, they had to order one, so i cant check that...yet

If you can start the bike without a fob, you don't have security. HD used same gauges on all the bikes so just because you have the light doesn't mean you have security. My bike has an ABS indicator, yet I don't have ABS.

As Weavr99FLHT stated, if you've ridden the bike without inputting a code and no fob, you do not have security.

I had an '03 with an alarm system, which came with a push-button disarming device. If you put the key in without pressing the button you weren't going to go anywhere! Later bikes like my '11 have a proximity sensor in the disarming device, so it is sufficient to have it close by, but again without it the bike won't start.
