Default push button alarm bypass?

my buddy has the push button style alarm on his 06 electra and i helped him set a new bypass code. that was no problem, the problem we are having is when trying to access the bypass to enter the code.

want to make sure we know how if the need ever arrises.

the instructions say to turn ignition to on and immediately hold down both turn signals till the zero and four dashes appear. that doesn't happen all we get is a screaming alarm and hazards on.

see if you can unplug the siren module until you are done experimenting.

i also tried as another video suggested to turn to ignition and then just blip the turn signals and that just makes the alarm scream too.

What works for me....
Stand next to bike

With ignition off and run/stop switch set to run

Press and hold left turn signal with left thumb

With right hand turn on ignition and move right hand to right turn signal and press

Release both turn signals

turn it to accessory not to ignition. press and hold down both turn signals till the key flashes quickly. once the code is entered and it's disarmed then go back to the ignition/run

are you trying to do this with the fob in your pocket? if the fob is too close, you won't be able to go into override mode (at least on my 2013 i can't).

You have to push the button to activate or disarm the system with the older manual FOB.

Here's the way to do it with the manually activated system

Turn the ign switch to accessory,

QUICKLY hold down both left and Right signal switches until the key

lamp flashes rapidly, enter the

first digit on the left And use the right as an 'enter' key,

enter all five digits of the

passcode and the system will Disarm, if you screw up, the

alarm will activate and you will have

to wait ten minutes.

So as an example, if your code was 12345..................

Ignition to accessory.

Quickly press and hold both signal buttons until the key lamp flashes.

In order:

left 1 then press right
left 2 then press right
left 3 then press right
left 4 then press right
left 5 then press right

System should disarm
