Default Goo Gone on an LRS shield?

Would it be ok?

I'm doing a poor-mans madstad mod that uses whatever shield you have, and there's sticky stuff from the trim piece on the bottom.

If not Goo Gone, what would you suggest?

I will call them when they open, just thought I'd see what folks are saying...

Goo Gone will likely melt the plex. I recommend Alcohol. I use it to remove goo on my bike. It isn't a fast acting solvent on glues and goo's, but it hasn't caused me any permanent damage as of yet.

I would try it first on one of the bottom tabs that aren't seen...

But I steer away from goo gone ALWAYS...

My Dad was trying to "help" me and take some old stickers off the front of my box trailer... you can, to this day, see where it ran down and ruined the paint.

I use Goo Gone on almost everything and have never had an issue. I agree though, test it on a small, non-visible area first just in case. It's my go too for sticky residue.

I think I would spray a little WD-40 on a soft rag and try wiping it before I used Goo Gone, which is kind of aggressive (at least for me). I have used WD-40 to remove stickers and other sticky things and never had it eat anything up.

That is the thing about a forum. Never a consensus on anything. Some say "you can do it" and others say "don't do it".
In the end, you don't know anymore now than you did in the beginning.
Reminds me of an oil thread.
