Bag pins?

The Dzus connectors are used in aviation.
Properly installed, there is no issue. The rubber and metal fender washers are all integral to them being properly installed. You should get a click when they are fully engaged.
I've used hitch pins in the past, but a fender washer is still necessary...
Bonus is without getting in the bag, you can't get them off from the outside...
But I bought stainless... and used better hairpins.
Or, you could use a multiple hole, and put a hiarpin and a ringpin in for security...

I did the same as Heavymetalthunder, bought mine at my local Lowes very low investment. I replaced one pin on each side. For me it was a feeling of them being more secure, as in not falling off, going down the road and more secure,as in theft, as now you need a tool to remove them. If it makes a thief pass on to a easier target then it was $ well spent!

If you 'feel' they're a little 'sketchy' you likely haven't got them fastened properly. They are great fasteners for those that can actually operate them,
Bolts are made for those that cannot and can be had at any hardware store for under $2 (one per side).
Brukus kits are for those that cannot Google 'hardware store'.

Yeah...
Seeing you are in Texas, come on down to San Antonio, I'll go buy pins and put them in your bags, if you can get them off with the bag locked, you can have them, if not, buy me a cold one, and pay for the pins.
Without busting the bag, they won't come off.
When the bag is broken, you are "in" the bag.
I never said impossible to steal... where there's a will, there's a way.
Most crooks wont destroy the bag to get it off, because the bag itself is usually more valuable than the contents, and the only way to get it off with Hitch pins and fender washers from the outside is to destroy the bag.

Brukus system is clean, cheap and easy to use. It also prevents theft of bag even if you get into it, unless you have the theft resistant torx bolt wrench. Brukus is also easy to install, takes about 5 minutes total. I felt better about the bags staying on the bike with the bolts over the stock twist on pin.
