Your 96 may be lugging at 70, but the 103 isn't. I have had 3 limiteds and they all do well down to 60 in 6th with Power Vision and right tune. The 14 would pull 6th at 60 without the PV.

I'm looking for a couple hundred more RPM in 6th at 70. I don't know if the 30T would be appropriate for what I'm looking for or what the RPM would be at 70, with my final drive.
It is very easy to work out what that change will do for you. Using a 30T instead of a 32T will change rpms to: 2700 x 32/30 = 2880.

Unfortunately there are very few options available for changing gear on the later models, since the MoCo introduced the new compensator and cush-drive rear wheel, however the trikes have a 70T rear pulley and 30T front pulley, which will give you an improvement over the above: 2880 x 70/68 = 2960.

The trikes use a 1 1/8" wide belt of 139T, the same as the older touring bikes, so a new belt would also be required, but you will get 260 more rpm in 6th.

So, may be easier to just get a Trike front 30T and rear 70T with 1 1/8" belt? IDS rear pulley is probably more costly then to try and find aftermarket pulleys. Wonder what all that would cost?????.

I haven't done it, but that looks like the way to go. You can see list prices on any of the on-line websites, like this one. If you decide to go ahead there are some dealers like Kutter who sell parts at discount prices.

Belt Drives Limited has them and I use the 30 tooth 2011 up trike pulley. The Falcon belts don't seem to hold up. They are strong but tend to start stretching and have carbon fiber threads sticking out the sides. It makes more difference with cams than on stock engine. It will bring the lowend to life on cammed engine and 6 th gear becomes very use able. I had 30 on a 2010 Limited stock and put one on 12 limited with TW 555 and made lots of difference on the TW 555 engine. Good swap and you really don't even notice the extra rpms as the engine is running so much easier and not laboring in 6th above 50 mph. Going to need a tuner that can adjust speedo.

I thought you can use your stock belt with the 30T Pulley??

With the time and labor and $$ involved doing the front pulley, the clutch basket may not be a bad idea. wouldn't the adjustable chain tensioner already in there be reused in the Evo clutch? And, are those clutches any good? Quality?

You can re use the stock chain tensioner or go to a Baker while you're already in there.

yep, I know but seems like everyone likes to dick around with the small pulley that drives the belt for the rear wheel and wonder where their adjustment went.
