Pulley SWAP, Front Or Rear?

Pulley SWAP, Front Or Rear?
2011 Limited, I only want a couple hundred more RPM and thinking the rear pulley may achieve what I want for less $$.. 70 in 6th, or just below 70 mph absolutely is ****! I would like to be at 28-2900 RPM in 6th at 70, instead of about 2650-2700 RPM. I think the front Pulley may be to much above 70+ Besides, I live in Commiefornia and no speed is above 70 on the main Interstate in this screwed up state! Ideas, opinions?? I'm fairly certain a rear change will probably net me 50% of a front swap..

with the IDS rear pulley- swapping the front is less expensive.
have a look at the pulley offerings and calculate the ratio you think would work best for you.
if you google 28_RatiosMPG , you should find a chart from andrews that gives some interesting mph/rpm/ratio info.
as for commiefornia, ride the way you like.
just take responsibility for it

Gotta be really careful doing pulley swaps, as there are lots of pulleys out there that came off different models...but there are also lots of combinations that there is no belt for..probably not going to save any dollars anyway as if you change the rear enough to make any real difference...the primary has to come off anyway to change the belt.

A 30 tooth front pulley will give you 70mph at 2850. The stock 32 gives you 2670 at 70mph. You will need a Gates 139 tooth 1" wide belt. Belt Drives Limited has them and I use the 30 tooth 2011 up trike pulley. The Falcon belts don't seem to hold up. They are strong but tend to start stretching and have carbon fiber threads sticking out the sides. It makes more difference with cams than on stock engine. It will bring the lowend to life on cammed engine and 6 th gear becomes very use able. I had 30 on a 2010 Limited stock and put one on 12 limited with TW 555 and made lots of difference on the TW 555 engine. Good swap and you really don't even notice the extra rpms as the engine is running so much easier and not laboring in 6th above 50 mph. Going to need a tuner that can adjust speedo.

I'm assuming my front pulley is a 32T and rear is 68T. According to the Andrews info, my stock set up gives me 2700 RPM in 6th at 70 MPH,(which it basically does) that is to low of an RPM for me to use 6th. I'm looking for a couple hundred more RPM in 6th at 70. I don't know if the 30T would be appropriate for what I'm looking for or what the RPM would be at 70, with my final drive.
I'm running the Andrews 57H cams too.

Never done it but the 49 tooth rear primary sprocket should do the same and be heck of lot less labor.
