I believe it would be much easier...

To find American made products in Lithuania or China. I've often wondered, when Chinese folks turn their doodads over, is there a sticker that says "Made in America" ?

The higher end Danner boots are made in Oregon and are great quality.

Chippewa harness boots. Vibram Sole, thick dual leather layers on uprights (inside and out). I have two pair, brown and black, have had them for years. Comfortable and look great.

maybe not... just checked some reviews, was not aware of the suede look, and who wants something from an unhappy place?

Review from Amazon:
"I bought these for their unusual color and texture: I thought the "bomber" leather was cool and it is. I sent them back because the execution was bad. Fitting of the toe leather to the sole on my sample was uneven with "bubble" looking spots, most stitching was unsightly, the top edge trim on the shaft was ripply, fitment of the heel was crooked, and the grinding of the sole and heel sides was just plain ugly. Red Wings these are not. They seemed to me like a product of an unhappy place."
