H/D Plugs.

They are the only thing that you can get from the dealer that is reasonably priced and as good as you need them to be.

From everything I have read spark plugs make next to NO DIFFERENCE in performance regardless of how much you spend. I just installed the least expensive plugs that Harley makes - $8 a pair I think.

Stock Harley as well.. you can introduce other issues with the knock detection and such if you use the wrong kind. My mechanic used stock ones as well.

Would 1 step cooler help with the occasional detonation we sometimes get on hot days?

I'm not an expert by any stretch..

But since that is pre detonation, or detonation before the spark, I don't see how it would help.

I've always used OEM spark plugs on all my engines.
