Thanks all,I ended up picking up some Roland Sands 10" bars, ended u costing me about $280 out the door. Now I might need some new grips and levers since I went with black bars. The bike has a chrome/black combo going, hoping it looks good once finished.

Only if the weather allowed me to put those miles on. It'll be snowing any week now, best believe I'm getting my rides in as much as I can.

I never liked the look of apes, but I have to admit they made a HUGE difference in my comfort.

Save up another 500 and do the hydraulic cam chain tensioner and oil pump upgrade.

I'd go with a seat and a new windshield. You get some comfort and a new look to the bike.

Change bars and put the rest away? The rest of what? You can get bars for less than $500 but you can't get them installed too.

If you plan on putting on a lot miles, a good seat is worth the money. Do you ride solo or
two up ? That might make different in seats you will look at. If your bike needs tires then
that will eat up that $500.oo quickly too. Everyone also has an Opinion on windshields make
sure to check out Long Rides Shields for a recurved of the proper height for you.

X2. The bars were a great start. I did 12" monkey bars and they feel great.

put the rest away for now. You will be much better able to decide what to spend it on after a while in the saddle.[/QUOTE]

Good advice here.
