Default 19 from 18 inch wheel

opinions. Like the look of the 19 inch wheel on new touring bikes. Is it stupid to go from 18 to 19.

Opinions. Going to clean up one side and do a single sided rotor to show it off. Just don't want to go Any bigger. Thanks for the input.

I have a 2013 FLHX anf really want to get a 19" front wheel. I likey. The cost of a new billet wheel through most dealers is way more than I would ever pay. Harley on the other hand has some that I like.

The 19" stock Harley wheel uses a 130/60 tyre, which is similar in profile to your 18", indeed much the same as the 17" and 16" front wheels Harley has used in recent years. The rolling diameter will be very similar, although the sidewall is lower, but it should ride much like your current wheel. I must admit I wouldn't give up a brake rotor, but that is another matter!

I am going with a13 inch rotor and 6 piston caliper. Did it on my 06 streetglide with a 21 and didnt see much difference. Shouldn't the larger rotor a caliper help.

Mine is a 2011 Limited Ultra. 19 front Enforcer wheel, w/a StreetGlide front fender. I like it, and don't feel any difference in the ride.

I just put a PM Heathen 21" wheel on my '12 SG. I think it really made the looks of my bike. You can go this route for about the same money as an HD wheel (if you buy new). I've only had it for a few weeks so far, but I don't know that the bike doesn't ride better now. The only real difference I've felt is that it stands a little higher in the front now. Now I will say that I'm not a real fan of the lower profile tire. I just think the more meat up there the better. only time will tell on how I feel about that.

all that being said, hey if you like the look of the 19" wheel better than what you have, then go for it. You will feel better about your bike. I don't see you having any issues and I doubt that you will feel any difference in the ride. I see a lot of guys with the pre '14 models putting those newer wheels on their bikes. I'm not for sure what bike you have, but I'm sure the newer wheels look better than what you have. I straight hated the look of the SG stock wheels. IMO, they were the ugliest wheels that HD makes.

I've done lots of stupid stuff to my bike.....oh wait...stupid, in the eyes of others! And quite frankly, every decision I'd do over again including my 19 inch front wheel. All of my buddies went 21 except me and I don't feel upset about it.....I wanted what I wanted...same rolling diameter and I didn't want it sitting up higher in the front.

My 19" is great. Rides well, turns perfect and looks awesome. You didn't ask my opinion on the rotor, but I would stick with two because you never know when you need an extra 4' of stopping distance.

Granted, on my bike the 19" was stock (except that I went with the Agitator wheels).
