Default 2014 Ultra Limited FLHTK - Replacing Handlebars

I'm looking for some help, advice and suggestions I guess. I'm looking to replace the stock handlebars on my 2014 Ultra Limited but I'm getting missed answers from the Harley so I figured I would see who has already completed this and get your alls input.

I'm looking at either the Harley Bat Wing Mini Apes or the Klock Werks Ergo Back as replacements. I had the Ergo Back on my 2008 Ultra Classic and I loved them but Harley is telling me I will need new cables and wires if I go with either.

Can anyone please verify if this it true or not?

Thanks
Don

Welcome to the forums , I cant answer about the ergo bars. The batwing bars I had on a 2013 Street Glide I changed the cables and rerouted the wires to connect under the radio ,I internally wired the bars PITA with a 1" bar. There are members that have done the Batwing bars and kept their stock cables and it worked out just fine.
IMHO it would be best to change the cables out.

I just replaced my stock bars with Khrome Werx 2+2 sweeper bars. 2" taller and 2" closer.

NO CABLE EXTENSIONS NECESSARY!

regardless of what the "stealer" will tell you - I bought the bars for 86 bucks and spent about 6 hours total changing them out. A little re-routing of the cables were necessary but nothing that wasn't accomplished easily.

I replaced my stock bars with LA Chopper 10" mini apes in black. Cable change is not required, the brake and clutch lines are plenty long. I did add the plug and play wire extensions for the controls. $24 or so.

I am now going higher with 14" apes. I have all the cables and wire extensions eeded. The clutch and brake lines look relatively straight forward to install. I will be selling the old 10" apes shortly!

So last night I ordered the Khrome Works 1 inch 2+2 Sweeper Handle Bars for the bike. Khrome Works web site said they will fit my 2014 Ultra Limited but the Amazon site when I ordered them said they wouldn't. I'm hoping the Amazon site just isn't as updated as the manufactures web site.

Fingers crossed they fit and I can install them with no problems.

They'll fit - it's exactly what I ordered and I got the same message when I ordered from Amazon - a lot of Prilosec was consumed while I waited for them - but all is good - they fit like a glove!
