Default Odometer reset button is AWOL.

Stopped on the way home from work today and refueled the Street Glide. Went to reset the mileage and stuck my finger in a hole. The reset button was gone. It was there when I left for work this morning. I peeked in with a flashlight and I could see the switch on the end of the wire.

Very simple fix the switch outside is threaded. You will need the round plastic internally threaded piece (nut) and the rubber cover. I would remove outter fairing to make job much easier.

Lost mine too while out on a ride. I remembered dodging what I thought was a bee coming at my face when I stopped for fuel and it wasn't there. Easy fix. I check mine for tightness now just about every time I ride.

Use a little blue thread locker on it to help fight the vibrations when you reinstall it.

Thank you for the replies and the tips. I seldom post anything here, but I read many of the posts and learn so much helpful, good to know information. Thanks for your contributions.

Easy to check and just for the nuts of it, I bought an extra (only $5) to carry in the saddlebags.
I've seen others on the road that lost theirs.

I also carry an extra TP latch. Lost two of those on rides so I want a spare. One was when I was headed to Deadwood. Had to turn around and get one from a dealer. That goofed up a day of riding.
