Default Extended Warranty

I just purchased a 2011 Street Glide with under 5K miles and am thinking about getting an extended warranty. Price I'm being quoted is...
1 YEAR $1249
2 YEAR $1569
3 YEAR $1849

$50.00 deductible per claim. Is this a good price for an extended warranty? Do most people think this is something worth getting? I'm leaning towards getting the 2 or 3 year, just for the peace of mind. Would appreciate some feedback. Thank you in advance.

At the prices HD dealers charge for parts and labor 1 or 2 times having to have something done can add up in a hurry imo especially on a used bike it is worth the piece of mind.

This is one of those instances....

If you buy the warranty... you won't need it.

If you elect not to buy the warranty... something will ***** the bed and you will kick yourself.

Everyone's experience is different.

Just a little extra peace of mind.............Another form of insurance. I got when I purchased a used bike last year and I am glad I did buy it.

Saved me a good deal of change with a flat out in BFE Arkansas this year. Also cost me $50 for a compensator that had to be replaced.

I paid a touch under $1600 for the 3 year on my 13 RG, so you may be able to negotiate a better price. Of course it's a waste of money if you never have to use it, but I was willing to take the chance. The 3 year is the best bang for the buck in my opinion and if you sell the bike sooner than that you get a chunk of it back.

For me, it's a piece of mind thing.
You might come out ahead, you might not - you decide.
But consider - if you cheap out and don't get it, you got a plan of action and considered the cost of repairs and towing? Don't take much to eat up $1,000.00 on these machines...

These are not really warranties at all.
They are 3rd party insurance plans. And on average they take in way more money than they ever pay out.
They are betting that nothing goes wrong with you bike during the covered period.
You are betting that enough goes wrong, that the cost of fixing it would be more than the price you payed out for the plan.

Take that $1,849 and put it in the bank for when the time "might" come you need it.
There is a much greater chance that you will have money left over at the end of 3 years.

Compensator and stator job was $1250 this year on my 2012 with 25,000 miles on it. I paid $50 because of the extended warranty. YMMV
