My .02. Just freshen the motor up with some new pistons a little higher compression, have the heads done by a reputable builder and get a good set of cams. You will love it and it will be very reliable. I built a 95" motor like this and never had an issue with it. I had Branch do the heads and they were awesome.

Why was the 103" Stage IV difficult to ride?

When did you have to keep the RPM's up on the Stage IV, at idle?

Thanks

I had to keep them up a little bit (1,600 to 1,800) and work with the clutch at slow (parking lot?) speeds. Otherwise the bike would get jerky. It was a hoot to ride though.

This is a great post, I have a 2013 FLHTK and want to do the same thing, I go from ordering the HD 110 kit, to calling Fuel Moto...decisions. I want more power in the 2,000 to 3,000 range...

I did the SE 110 kit on a 2009 ultra. I had the acr's, ventilator ac, true duals, se 255 cam and used the SE race tuner and had it dyno tuned. Kept the factory warranty intact and did 30k trouble free miles on the bike before selling it. Good low end torque, good midrange power, recommend as an upgrade from the 96 ci you have. You can easily spend $5k or more to hotrod and void your warranty and end up where you didn't want to go.

I have the 103 with the stage 4 race kit and it produces 114 HP and 114 TQ, I highly doubt you will get that out of a 110 with a stage 1 kit.

My ultra was dyno'd at 115 hp and 118 TQ. However, I never pay attention to numbers but how a bike feels and it ran great for how I ride.

Did you have the bike Dyno tuned? If so, by who?

Do 255 cams have a jerky take off by nature, or can they be tuned to have a smooth start?

Thanks
