Do 255 cams have a jerky take off by nature, or can they be tuned to have a smooth start?

Thanks

The 255 cams are fine if tuned properly. No rough take off at all. Hell, that's what HD uses stock in the Bikes

Stock in CVO's and now I believe in the 2015 touring bikes.

Yes, it was built and dyno tuned by Pat at Wildcat HD.

Why do you suppose it has such a jerky start?

Thanks

My CVO 110 has the stock SE 255 cams, and has had head work by TMan, Rinehart true duals, tuned by Doc's Performance here in Fl. Smoother than stock as far as low end, and no jerking, bucking or even surging at low rpms. I can let the clutch out at idle, about 950-1000 rpms, and it just pulls smooth up to where ever I shift at.

Default 104" Stage 1V kit

I have 25k on my 2010 Limited with Harley stage lV kit. Originally had 260 cams changed them to Cycle Rama 630i. I'm 116/114. Runs strong. Super glad I went with the 103" instead of 110".
