Default Apes question: 10 inch on Road Glide

I am looking at putting 10 inch Yaffe monkey bars on my Road Glide. My question is what is involved with changing them out? Do I have to extend any wires? Are there any good tutorials out there, as I am just wanting to decide whether to tackle it myself or have a shop do it. My local Harley dealer shop said I have to get new cables and extend wires, but I have heard you don't have to with 10's

I just bought my 15 roadglide in September so I still have a lot to learn about mods for this bike....however....from what I've read / heard concerning apes, in this case mini apes, at 10" you don't have to change out any cables.

I have 10 inch Yaffee ape bars on my 09 EGC and did NOT have to replace any cables or wires. You will have to reroute them but you don't need to replace them. The brake and clutch cables and all wires are long enough, a little tight but it works fine.

I just got this done a couple of weeks ago on my RG and you will not need new cables or wires!

Nothing has to be extended, but you might want to go 4" over on the clutch cable. Mine was gonna be tight on the Ultra, and I didn't want to take a chance. Also, I went 12' over stock on the TBW connection wires. The TBW connection to the throttle will be deep in the bars if you don't lengthen those wires. Might never need to but if a replacement throttle assembly was even needed on the road, it would be a tough 'easy replacement'. Instead of a plug and play type move, the bars would have to come off. Just a thought.
