Default Smoke from one exhaust?

Hey guys I have a 2006 SG with around 6k miles on it. Today, after tightening the nuts for the exhaust stud, I let the bike idle for a few minutes and turned it off. Shortly after the right side side exhaust, looking from the rear was smoking. This was coming out the muffler so it wasn't the locktight burning off. What could this be, is there an issue?

Mods- True duals full Rhinehart system, stage 1 air cleaner, and PCV with a tune. Just making sure I don't have an issue here. Thanks all

Make sure your A/C filter isn't clogged. I was having the same issue and this was the culprit.

I would watch it, but not worry about it much, as long as it is the same pipe tht you tightened, when you tightened it you may have just dislodged a piece of carbon etc. from the gasket, it will prolly burn off after a few minutes...

Thanks for the replies guys.

I actually should clean the filter, not sure how that relates but I'll definitely take your advice and check it.

As for the O2, I'll check that as well.

I will check it again tomorrow and see if it does the same thing. Might be something minor and something I just happened to catch and notice. Thanks all

If the A/C filter is clogged and can't breathe it will pull from wherever it can. It will pull oil from the vents in your heads. Done been thru this myself.

Default Need to ride

sounds like you need to ride the bike. 6k on a 2006. I got 6k on my bike the first 3 months.
I got 50,000 now on an 09.

I'd like to see a 2006 with 6k miles on it! Mine's got 95k on it..[the guy I bought it from put the miles on it though]. The right side gets more exhaust through it,[with stock pipes],so any bit of oil or garbage coming out of cylinders will wind up on that side.Nothing to worry about. '06 doesn't have oxygen sensors. Oh I just re-read,see you have true duals! Still nothing to worry about.

I suspect you were seeing condensation evaporating. A few minutes idling is enough to get things warmish, but not enough to clear the muffler and exhaust of all condensation that has built up.

Thanks guys, I think it was just one of those things I noticed and never noticed before. I'll check the A/C though, safe bet Sbates is right on this one.

@Akodust and HDBob, I just purchased the bike in July (coming from a softail, then a vrod). She had 4k on the clock when I bought her, so I put a good 2k-2400 on it since then. We don't get many nice days here so I do what I can, when I can. Don't worry she'll add up quick
