Default Seat swap from Ultra to King

I am looking to swap out the seat on my 2004 Road King Custom. I ran a cross a good deal on a seat off of a 1998 Ultra Classic Limited addition 95 year anniversary model. Does anyone know if I can swap these seat without any problems.

Not sure if the ultra has the shorter dash panel, if so the nose of the seat will be longer. I did this with a seat from an electraglide to my '07 FLHR.

If you're handy it isn't hard to trim the nose down if you have the longer dash panel. Just remove the staples holding the cover to the seat pan and peel the cover back. Measure how much to cut back, mark with a sharpie and cut the foam with your old lady's electric carving knife. Once the foam is out of the way you can cut the pan with tin snips or heavy shears the pan is only heavy plastic. When done pull the cover back over and re staple.

Good luck!

Thanks Florida, I appreciate the info.

I will be able to take a look at it tomorrow and see what I have to deal with. I have no problems making it work. Just another project for the winter.

I just wanted to follow up on my thread in case anyone had the same question. The seat fit perfectly with out any modifications. It was a good deal no matter what, even if I would have had to modify the seat.

Thanks again Florida for you quick response.

Jim
