Default Need advice on handlebars

I'd like to get a new set of bars that puts my hands as far up and forward as possible while still keeping my stock mirrors and hands behind the fairing on my street glide. Anybody have advice. Pics would be great as well.

10" bars are as high as you can go and still have functioning stock SG mirrors. Any higher and your hands will block the mirrors and render them useless. 12" bars will get you just barely high enough to peek under your hand controls and have a limited view from your mirrors and your hands will be right at the top edge of the fairing. There are lots of threads on handlebars loaded with pics and descriptions of their bars. I suggest you use the search function and go from there.

2010 Limited with some stuff!!

Advice? Try adjusting your current bars before spending money! It's free and might improve comfort. Rotating them forwards will raise the grips and move them away from you.

LA Choppers 10" Twin Peak bagger bars will accomplish what your after. They have a lot of forward bend to put your hands away from you. If you don't like it though, your screwed since they can't be moved back very much due to the bend or it will hit the tank.

Check out Helibars. I love mine. Had them installed at Sturgis this year.

16" cyclesmiths on my 06, changed a few things since I took these pics. I can still use stock mirrors, however needed to extend the wiring. FYI this wasn't a simple overnight task and HD charges a pretty penny for it. There are threads covering this which are a great help. Once you do it once, it becomes easier, practice on someone else's bike!

EDIT: Sorry saw you wanted your hands behind the fairing, I'd suggest 12-14s then, 12 to be safe.

I have the 10" Twin Peaks and had to add mirros to the bars because the stock mirrors were useless. You can use the stock mirrors with 12" or longer bars but you will be above the fairing and in the cold weather and your hands will be exposed to the cold air. I tried using the stock mirrors without success.

I know that 10" Monkey Bars block the mirrors. I went with 12" so I could keep my fairing mirrors. My hands were just slightly above the fairing but I loved them.

I had 14" Mayhems on my street glide with full use of mirrors.
