Default Is a Dyno tune really worth it?

I'm getting ready to have new cams, heads and head pipe installed. The shop's wanting to do a dyno tune also........ just wondering

in a way the shop is verifying/ ensuring their work is correct...cam timing/ spark timing and fuel maps.

they can check your results against a typical standard result- any anolmalies can be adjusted before you hit the street.


and you get piece of mind.

while I am a cheepskate ( and leave my Harleys at Stage 1), I would consider dyno tuning to be a smart part of cam swap ( although not for just a stage 1).

Absolutely it should be dyno tuned.

No question you should have it dyno tuned.

Another vote for the dyno.

All I did to the motor was enhance its respiratory system (intake/ exhaust).

It would pop and sputter etc until the tune.

It REALLY smoothed out the power.

You also want to be sure the A/F is correct or it could have SERIOUS issues down the road. Pun intended.
